Shelly & David's Wedding

Celebrating a beautiful day with Shelly and David - who’s personalities lit up the room. My first zoom wedding with small distanced ceremony - but it was a lovely lovely day and still led to many interesting photo opportunities and chances to capture expressions and moments as they unfolded on my wider 24-70mm and longer 70-200mm (social distancing…) lenses!

The first COVID 2020 ceremony I had the privilege of shooting and frankly - it would be a privilege to do it again and again for any couple who hold the marriage ceremony and expressing their love now rather than waiting to share their big day with 150 guests or so . There is something quite remarkable about the intimacy of a small gathering - plus you really can talk to everyone!

The ceremony took place at Freedom Church in Chester

Classical melodies ringing through the church on a less oft seen harp - wonderful

Dressed & Dapper

Even masks can be made a bit special of a wedding! I may need to get flowers for one myself!

Family moments!

Here she comes - sneaking a glance…

Enter the beautiful bride backlit and glowing!

A ceremony streamed live on zoom to friends and family down the road and around the world

A solemn moment or two

And plenty of laughs!

It was quite the joyous occasion despite limited numbers with Covid rules

Exchanging of rings

and vows…

Photographing everyone who attended was a challenge of modern technology and lighting

As much as chatting to all the guests was a marvel of modern technology!

Then 2h20 down the road to the beautiful venue, The Boat Inn, Birdingbury where there was a wonderful marquee’d reception in a flowering pub garden - all put together at short notice by the amazing staff as the government changed the rules and the whole reception had to be re-located within a week! Kudos to a team so capeable!

After a lovely dinner - speech time in the marquee

Traditions that live on despite Covid - CAKE!!!

It was a choice of truly delicious Red Velvet or Chocolate Cake

And was so good these boys had to carefully articulate just why it was so important to have a 2nd piece…

Don’t you just want to know what was being said?!

Lovely ladies on a mild evening

Still time to quickly grab a quiet moment

And I am a sucker for lights (always better than beer drinking pub regulars you don’t know…)

So thank you, Shelly and David, for letting me share your beautiful day!
